The School Holidays and the First Week Back

Over the holidays I went to a village up by nelson called Mapua to meet up with some family which I really enjoyed.

Over the first week in school for numeracy we have been multiplying and adding decimals which was confusing me out of my mind until I figured out how to do an algorithm which made it surprisingly easy.

For literacy we are writing scripts for a movie that we are going to make with some friends which I think is going to be fun.

The one fin wonder

 Добрый день, добрый день, I'm back with another blog post this time it's on a rocket that me and some friends created for inquiry which only had one fin hence the title. We had limited resources so That's why we also had one fin. Our group (despite our group being very lazy) Did surprisingly very well compared to others. Ours flew a distance of 10m, we knew some people had -1.85m. overall I think Our team did very well when it came to working and the final launching. If you were there, how far did your rocket go?

добрый день добрый день, this week and last week after tech we have been learning basic python(the code) to create a PSA about an issue of your choice e.g global warming, pollution and so on using a website called codesters.com my code if you want to see the full thing. Probability Math

 добрый день добрый день, this week in Mr Gilstrom's Math Group we have been focusing on gambling (which I am not endorsing at all) and other games involving luck to see if we could use math to win or figure out the probability behind the chances of winning. Southern Lights Art

Hello bloggers, it's the last day of the term and I have another piece of art for you this time it's based around the southern lights arouras also known as aurora australis. An aurora is a natural light display in the sky, auroras are normally green but can also be red or blue. These natural phenomenons usually occur in areas known as the auroral zones in the Arctic in the north and Antarctic in the south. An aurora is caused by the collision of energetically charged particles with atoms in the high altitude thermosphere within our atmosphere.the collision of energetically charged particles with atoms in the high altitude thermosphere within our atmosphere. Weekly Work 4

Kia ora bloggers, this is some of the work I have done over the past week.

For maths we have been focusing on linear and non-linear equations. Linear equations are an equation that has a pattern that goes in a straight line and non-linear equation are the opposite of linear equations. Over the week we have had tasks of figuring out which equations are linear and which are non-linear. One of our tasks is displayed bellow.

For inquiry this week we have been looking at pieces of art that are revolved around global issues and designed our own. Tell me what you think of mine.

Weekly work 2 & 3

Kia ora bloggers, sorry for not posting last week. Today I'm posting work from this week and last week.

Numeracy last week
For numeracy last week we played a game called take 3 instructions here. We had to figure out if the game is fair and a way to always win the game.

For numeracy this week we had to learn how to balance an equation, which I still don't understand fully but I did get the answers right.

For literacy this week we have started our genre studies for our video essay. This week the genre we have been studying was horror. This is the task we had to do bellow

Back to school

Kia ora bloggers, this blog post is what I have been doing this week.

For maths, we have been using Kaggle.com and using it to figure out how to programme python to answer math questions. I have linked it if you want to try it, all you have to do is create an account and create a notebook using python.

For literacy, we have been creating Google sites about The Wizard of Oz instead of doing an essay on it. I am supposed to link my site and post a screenshot but it didn't save (even though it said it did) so I can't do that.

What I have been doing this week

Kia ora Bloggers, Over the week I've done multiple things for school and I thought I would show you some of the more exciting ones.

Friday Task
For one of my Friday tasks today I created an animal enclosure for an animal of my choice, I chose a tiger and answer some questions which I did on a slide *link here*. I drew the enclosure and there is only one tiger because I struggled with drawing it. I hope you like it and tell me what you think?


Literacy
One of our tasks for literacy this week was to was to create/describe what creature we would use to do our evil bidding if we were an evil witch or warlock, mine are

Math
For Math this week we were focusing on multiplying, dividing, adding and subtracting fractions. We tested our knowledge on these by doing escape rooms that had problems using equations that involved adding and subtracting or multiplying and dividing fractions.

My Sock Puppet

Kia ora bloggers, for school/ tech today I made a sock puppet for the Fabric Fun task which is where you get an old piece of clothing and turn it into something new e.g. a sock into a sock puppet. Heres mine I hope you like it and tell me what you think.

Food Truck Fanatics

Kia ora fellow fleshy mammals, on Friday one of the tasks that I chose to complete was "Food Truck Fanatics which is where I had to design a food truck, menu and a name for your food truck. I chose to make my food truck menu chicken based, I named it The Cluck Truck.  I enjoyed designing the food truck because I'm into drawing. I hope you like the design.

Hello, fleshy mammals, In maths for the past two days we have used Tinkercad to create a character kind of thing and the steps on how we made them which I won't bore you with. Now because I'm not super creative I made Kirby tell me what you think.

Greetings fleshy mammals, Today my literacy task was to draw or create a piece of art revolved around the Wizard of Oz so I decided to draw the Tin Man. I hope you like it.

Hola fleshy animals, we are now on day two of online school and we are focusing on the Wizard of Oz for literacy. Our task was to write about what other movies/ stories that we thought were similar to The Wizard of Oz in any way to the story/ movie so these are the ones that I choose.

Kia ora fleshy mammals, today we have had our first day of online school. Because of this, I have created a time table/ schedule to follow (which I probably won't) to help me know what I am going to do throughout the day.

Quarantine day 1-3

Kia ora fellow fleshy mammals, although we are all stuck in quarantine I'll try to keep up with my blogging. While I have been in quarantine I have been drawing to stop myself from going mental, as well as other things so I figured I should post one of my drawings. I hope you like it.

p.s. We're not in quarantine the government is just using it as a distraction so they can renew the batteries in the birds, the birds work for the bourgeoisie 

Samoan 1-10 Bot

Greetings Bloggers, In Toroa we have been learning Samoan every Wednesday and we have learnt to count to ten. I have found that counting to 10 in Samoan is quite similar to counting to 10 in Maori. Today we have used scratch to create a programme  to create a bot that will convert any number from 1-10 into the Samoan word for that number.

My Super Sestina Poem

Hello bloggers, I am back with another post. This one is about my sestina poem. A sestina poem is a poem that has six lines and each line has six words. These poems can be made up or they can be real as well. We are sending our poems to a school in Hamiton. Hope you like it.

We have recently been finding out a bit of our family heritage in toroa and we have made a slide on it. So here's mine.

In school recently we have been focusing on charities in the community and we had to make a poster on one of them. I choose the SPCA because it's a charity that I show interest in.

Recently in Toroa, we have been working on self-portraits inspired by an artist named Romero Britto. He is known for doing bold and colourful portraits of famous people including Whitney Houston, Michael Jordan and Elton John.

The background of the portrait represents things that I like. I haven't finished it yet so there isn't and image but there will be one later.
